Existe una lista que contiene los nombres de todos los países y territorios del mundo ; frente a cada nombre hay una cruz que indica si un ciudadano colombiano debe o no pedir una visa para entrar. Se trata de un documento oficial publicado por el Ministerio de relaciones exteriores colombiano. Dicha lista dibuja una frontera : una línea que divide en dos el espacio blanco de la hoja. Las equis se inscriben al lado derecho o izquierdo de la línea. Hay muchas de un lado (cuando se exige una visa) y pocas del otro (cuando es posible entrar sólo con el pasaporte). La lista define así una zona en la que se tiene libertad de desplazamiento y la diferencia de otra, alejada temporal y geográficamente por procesos administrativos lentos y costosos. ¿Qué marca deja la imposibilidad de ir a ver por sí mismo los lugares con los que se sueña ? Marcas finas pero profundas como aquellas que deja la línea que separa la luz de la sombra, lo visto de lo no visto, lo vivido de lo no vivido.

There is a list that contains the names of all the countries and territories in the world. In front of each name there is a cross that indicates whether or not a Colombian citizen must apply for a visa to enter. It is an official document published by the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The list draws a border: a line that divides the white space of the sheet in two. The crosses are written on the right or left side of the line. There are many on one side (when a visa is required) and few on the other (when it is possible to enter only with a passport). Thus, the list defines a zone in which there is freedom of movement and differentiates it from another, temporarily and geographically remote due to slow and expensive administrative processes.
What mark leaves the impossibility of going to see for oneself the places one dreams of? Fine but deep marks like those left by the line that separates light from shadow, the seen from the unseen, the experienced from the unkown.
